My Day Out on Independence day
I have been shuttling to Mumbai from Bangalore these days; but hardly gone anywhere; Reasons are unknown or not like to evaluate; However, they might be due to my peer-to-peer netowork is limited in Mumbai area or getting synced with like minded folks are not yet linked. But, then 15th Aug when India got Independence and how can I stay indoors where bravehearts of Mumbaikars stay; their strength on business as-usual even after any untoward incident happens. I have decided to take a tour to most sensitive and vulnerable area post 26/11, and roped in one of my friend who stays in Mahakali; He has Mumbai experience of past (15 years before). But supported to join and we took a rickshaw to Andheri station to try-out local. Let's start the day in Brave way. Fast local to Church Gate. It was moderate rush at Andheri; but completely desertted post Daddar. After getting down Church gate station, walked towards gateway of India. Thought of taking a taxi, but then you can't enjoy the beauty of this fort area. So walked and reached Baghdadi restaurant behind Taj Hotel for Lunch. What a Meal, Awesome... Roved around the Taj and try to find traces of 26/11 attack. It was the heritage site which got re-opened today. But, then looked into Gateway of India. Walked down to Leopord Cafe and sipped a cold coffee and watched the bullet points as this cafe was affected during that time. Walked on the Colaba market and then moved to Fort area for heritage views. Dalal street, Bombay house, Navy Dock yard, VT, Times Bldg and so on... Tired of walking, so took a taxi for Hamleys Toy shop at Phoenix Mills. It was really cool place to get anything for kid. Finally picked NONE ;=) and returned empty to room. At-least, I stepped out on a Big day.
