It's been 2 odd months that I have been living like a forced bachelor. No constraint on return timings from office, shopping for whole week, run around behind kids, wait time for the food frm spouse, play with your Kiddo, what I have with me .. My Quality time, Time that I can invest on myself, to introspect on what life has given and how to shape life further in future. Time for thought leadership, taking up pending issues and review of current stock of situations and think inwards ;=)
Poaching by friends, inundated by acquitances, neighbours getting jealous of this freedom. Before marriage bachelor, post marriage bachelor is a different experience. Time to read, read and read. Do I favouring the pros or cons of such freedom. Not really, It's a boredom if not socialized within a short period. So, short ephuoria for getting singled out, having time for everything anything. At the same time, valuing others and keeping distance from all intruded privacies. A feeling of different circumstances in leading alone life. Try once; you may like it. And It's good for you... Ahh!!!!
Before getting into much details on daily routines, and struggling to food all-days. I found one of my close friend as well turned Forced Bachelor; Wow !!! It's like going back to mediveal days of bachelor stay. We have time to discuss on common issues, challenging theories, re-inventing something that might not have taken precedence if glued with social life. As the day goes, nostalgic on yester years of bachelor days gets firm on the minds and started thinking of venturing to life the way we want them to be everyday. Let me share a more recent experience.
Both thought to go and have snacks party at Infosys AGM meeting at Christ College, what a lousy thought, it makes us to think we have grown so aged that running for a snacks packet at Infy AGM. It's not that 1300% dividend ephuoria make us thought in that way. As plans being debated and killed as we near to the time, we changed our Mind and thought of eating in a Punjabi Dhaba somewhere in the outskirts of Bangalore, But where ... Let's try out in Bellary Road, Tumkur Road, or Mysore road.. Hey, we don't know how to reach there. We have decent hatchback and Sedan cars, but prefer to go to age old days of bachelor and tried to reach out BMTC buses to have a darshan of North Bangalore. So, target is Bellary road in NH7 some Dhaba... Charpai, Chicken Tandoori, Lassi (Oh Not Again, It's BEER).
Came out from Apt, walked for a mile and get into a bus. My friend wasn't entered BUS since years (possibly post CAR buy-out, or restricted him for Volvo rides only). I was somewhat connected with BMTC bus and it's access. Quickly bought 2 day pass that costs 30 Rs per head when boarded the train like bus to Majestic. Well, Majestic (KempeGowda Bus Stand), is the central district of Bus connectivity.
All cut through traffic in peak 4 PM on Saturday, reaching Majestic at 5:30 PM. Prior to the day, we just had Andhra Thali, with chicken and fish fries. So, we were ready to skip snacks, but don't want to skip our evening Tea. Rushed to a hotel within BMTC bus-stand and ask for Tea. While sipping in, enquired to a Driver; which bus goes to Bellary road or which platform the bus will leave. With a deep surprise look, he moved his hand to a direction that won't lead to platform, but we got the first indication of pillar to post affect. Reached platform 20 odd 23 areas and keep on asking Drivers and Conductors and stand-up administrator for the bus that goes to Bellary road. They were asking us in - turn, where will we go. We are clueless, which was our destination. It was only in our mind that, if the bus reaches outskirts and runs on HN7, if we see a Dhaba, we will get down and have food there and return to NEST. Very Noble thought...
Somehow we got into a Bus that goes to Bellary road, finally end up knowing, it's nowhere bellary road, but leaves 2 KM before Hebbal flyover, well it's not the direct road, it goes through cultivation land and lush green area. Thought of enquiring whether an AUTO will help from here, but when enquired, they said, we need to reach the Flyover and lookout for buses that goes towards Bellary... Walked for 20 mins, reached Hebbal Flyover again.... Boarded a Suvarna bus which was going to Doddaballapur, thinking it would take the BIAL road and we could see there would be nice/decent Dhaba's of our choice. But, it took a village road, Again ruined our sentiments and venturing out badly at 7:30 PM. Here it is Old Yelhanka town bus stop and we saw a large sea of people getting into Bus. We thought, at that time, BUS is leading to a unknown territory and we would be in trouble, much of our problem, we forced us to get down in the next stop and walked towards Yelhanka New town. Enquired to a Young Lad on Family Dhaba restaruants and new that, round the township there is something we can explore. When we reached Mother Dairy junction, an Old gentleman guided us a direction where a nice Dhaba with Hut structure well suited for a family outing is there. Wow. Bingo !!!! We thought of taking an AUTO, but saw the township just like Rourkela sector view, never saw such in Bangalore, Come on much much more decent and slush greenery than any developed BDA areas in B'lore. You must go and see that place. Huge Parks, govt provided row houses (colonies), fewer vehicles on the road, just in orrisa, girls and boys driving cycles and returning from tuition. Wow homely atmosphere. We walked for 2 KM and no sign of the site, came to New yelhanka junction and in next 1 KM, we traced the treasurer, Yes.. A Dhaba... It was 8:15 PM by than. We were tied with walking and we consoled ourselves that we have had good walk and needn't to go again on the terrace in the night for shedding the fab that accumulated over the these years. Took each one a KF strong BEER and started ordering, masala papad, chicken tandoori kabab, Chicken masala, Ginger chicken, salad...A much required meal of this adventure really needed and that Dhaba served right purpose. That Old gentleman re-directed us to the right destination. Mild sweet pan and then started backwards journey. While looking to buy a Kenley/Aquafine packaged water bottle, empty bus came shouting Majestic, Wow.. Wonders... Rushed inside and took the cool breeze at 9:45 PM at night back to Majestic area. Reached Majestic ahead of 10:30 PM and had our drinks (water from Kingfisher again) and started looking for a bus that comes to Bommannahalli area, much to time, a bus towards Attibele reached and we just moved in and found decent seats for rest of the jaunt that ended at 11:30 PM. Mission accomplished and A day out without aiming where to reach and have fun across the roaming time in BMTC bus. I must say, the frequency of BMTC buses have been improved and their service levels are not that bad. A day pass of 30 bucks is so cheap for such a round around journies, Value for money and we contributed a large to Eco sustainable energy and reducing carbon footprint of world by not opting to ventured out in our gas guzzlers. Have you any-time tried like this. Getting out of the comfort zone, no absolute planning, willing to walk the talk, re-inventing the past memories, if not, Try Once, it's re-energizes you very vitally. Its a way of re-energizing so that you can be elevated much more then before and start working towards a better social life and productive at work place. Till, I get to ventured something else, till than Sayonara...
